Ikebana (ē-kĕ-bah-nah)
The Ikebana International Ann Arbor Chapter #183 , in our 47th year.
We meet the third Thursday of each month September - May in room 125 at Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
The April workshop will be led by Ichiyo Associate Master Terre Voegeli with a focus on color.
Color is an important element of an Ikebana arrangement. How the color of the various components - line or branch material, floral material, filler and container work together determines the mood created by the arrangement. This workshop will be an introduction to the use of color in designing an Ikebana arrangement.
Please join us and learn about Japanese Washi Paper and its applications. Each participant will cover a wooden tissue box cover with their choice of Chiyogami paper. Bring a bag lunch and join us for this special cultural event. Cost: $30 for members of Ikebana International , $35 for non-members.
Celebrate Spring with a Glimpse of Japan. The Detroit Ikebana Chapter presents a demonstration of ikebana (Japanese flower arranging). Experience an ikebana floral arrangement exhibition while you enjoy refreshments.
