The Ann Arbor Ikebana Chapter is 45 years old this year!
You may have seen this mentioned in the Ikebana Headquarter newsletter and the most recent NCAR Seedlings. In reflection, our newsletter will be including small vignettes of past chapter events.
- Just to start off, the Ann Arbor Ikebana Chapter #183 was formed from members of the Ann Arbor Garden Club, which had been very active in Oriental Flower Arranging competitions and exhibitions. Other principal members were those wanting an II chapter in Ann Arbor as an alternative to driving to the Detroit chapter.
- May 1974 Prospective Chapter Status was granted by II Headquarters
- September 1, 1977 Formal Chapter Status was granted
